Self-Storage Industry Veteran Joins Tenant Property Protection Board of Directors

PEORIA, Arizona – August 14, 2017

Troy Bix, a 30-year veteran of the self-storage industry and founder of Inside Self-Storage (ISS), has joined the Tenant Property Protection (TPP) Board of Directors. TPP partners with self-storage owners/operators and managers nationwide to provide protection of tenant goods.

“With his vast experience in the self-storage industry, Troy’s expertise and guidance will help Tenant Property Protection strengthen its market position,” said TPP Principle Owner/Chairman Harry Sleighel. “This is a real coup for us.”

Bix recently joined Janus International Group as president of R3 (Restore, Rebuild, Replace) Division, responsible for positioning the company for growth in the R3 market. Janus is a global manufacturer and supplier of roll up and swing doors, hallway systems, and relocatable storage units for the self-storage industry.

“Harry and I go way back,” said Bix. “When he started Tenant Property Protection nine years ago, I knew he had a sound business concept. I predict in 15 years TPP will surpass the tenant insurance industry and have a commanding market share. Protection plans are the wave of the future.”

Previously, Bix served as vice president for Informa Exhibitions, overseeing ISS media assets as well as the ISS 2017 World Expo, an annual trade show for the self-storage industry.

ISS provides print products, e-media, a discussion forum, live events and an online store for self-storage owners, managers, investors, and developers. Bix founded ISS in 1991 to provide solutions to the challenges operators face in a competitive and economically challenging environment and covers topics essential to every self-storage professional, including day-to-day management, facility marketing, legal issues, construction and development, finance, real estate, and staffing.

Bix also had a long tenure with Virgo Publishing, which he joined in 1991 and eventually became the group publisher and vice president. While there, he launched over 15 B2B brands, including Assisted Living Success, ISS, Bed and Breakfast Magazine, Community Management, Health Supplement, and Retailer Door Dealer Magazine. Virgo was acquired by Informa in 2013. Bix also owns and operates Northern AZ business publications and websites.
